NETZSCH MANUFACTURES WORLD'S LARGEST CUTTING GRANULATOR

EXTON, PA, JULY 2001 -  NETZSCH-CONDUX^® recently manufactured one of the world's largest cutting granulators to be used to grind polymers to a granulate size less than 5mm. With a rotor diameter of 1000 mm and a working width of 2400 mm, this NETZSCH-CONDUX^® Cutting Granulator model CS 1000/2400-III-G-W weighs approximately 20 tons and is equipped with a 300 HP motor.

The massive cutting rotor with 12 segmented knives on the periphery assures maximum throughput and vibration free quiet operation. Unique cutting blades and a housing geometry with built-in screens assures optimum operation and product quality. The machine is gas tight to 50 mbar; the housing is gasketed and the shaft opening to the external bearing housing is sealed with a purged seal. NETZSCH-CONDUX^® Cutting Granulators CS are used for size reduction of any soft, non-brittle material that usually does not break on impact. NETZSCH-CONDUX^® can provide a complete size reduction system including metal detectors, feeders, product collection and process controls. A range of models and sizes are available for various applications including spices, resorbable polymers, cellulose, extrusion films and thermosets.
